Our celebration of such efforts must not preempt other approaches, other possibilities.Technology can provide solutions to particular ecological problems, but it is not a substitute for healing. To heal cultural wounds, we need a whole other kind of creative pursuit. A parallel track of relationship building, just as compelling in its own right as techno-utopianism, and just as essential. Essential takes on special meaning in these times, as in essential worker. We are called to rediscover our essential interdependence. We are called to the essential work of rising above denialism, the essential work of earthshotsbetting on the essential regenerative power of 8'
